As trusted partners for healthy operations, KBS recently was selected by the Metropolitan Transit Authority to clean New York City subway stations. KBS leveraged its experience performing over 120,000 COVID-19 remediations to implement an enhanced cleaning program for the subway system. In order to create an environment safe for travel, KBS’s expert team performed touch point cleaning using spray disinfectants and electrostatic sprayers. The project launched with 8 key stations, including Rockefeller Center and the newly opened 32nd Street station.
Although subway ridership has fallen during the crisis, the system typically handles over 5.5. million people daily. The system is the largest in the United States with 468 stations, 229 miles of routes on 656 miles of track. Laid end to end, NYC Transit train tracks would stretch from New York City to Chicago.
KBS is proud to help keep this important transportation resource up and running as the country begins to return to work and travel on a more frequent basis. As major operations like the NYC Subway System come back online, KBS continues to deliver essential facility services that help customers and employees stay safe.
